Japan may force hybrid cars to make more noise
When my Prius kicks into electric mode, it goes nearly silent. That's a problem for the visually impaired because they rely on engine noise to figure out where the cars are. Now, a Japanese transport ministry has launched a panel to explore whether some kind of noise-making device should be added to hybrid cars for safety.

this is an EASY fix:
Since heat sensors are abundant, install a couple in front of the car that can determine a human body from a distance - then have that system initiate a warning signal to the pedestrian through a speaker-like device installed in the engine compartment (like police sirens and car alarms are).
My personal Fave:
"Get the H#%% outta the way!"
(your results may vary)
I'm hoping for the George Jetson car sound. If we can't have flying cars, we can at least sound like 'em!
