Counterfeit Chinese Kindle branded "Wefound"
Chinese counterfeiters are like IP kleptomaniacs -- if they see a consumer electronics design that's succeeding in the market, they just HAVE to steal it. A Chinese "company" bizarrely named Peking University Founder Group has ripped off the Amazon Kindle's design for their own eBook reader. The best part is the name of the fake Kindle. Just in case there's any confusion over whether the design was theirs or somebody else's, the device is called the "Wefound."

Whoooo Hoooo.
Perhaps now we can buy one in Europe! Pull your finger out, Amazon. Thousands of people here want to do business with you.
Isn't this DELICIOUS? Kindle (and Kindle 2) are DRM-infected devices with disabilities and cripplings all the way over. So all these "IP thieves" (which they are not, even if you insist on using the brainwashing term "thieves", which SUBTRACT something from someone) do is make a functional "kindle 2" and you are crying and complaining over it.
How ironic that a democratic device coming from a iron-hand dictatorship is going to threaten a dictatorial device comingo from the 'land of freedom'.
Go go go 'wefound'! I look forward to buying you, because I am an avid ebook reader. I hope you have support for PDF, DJVU and HTML files which are the format of the majority of my ebooks.
Let's kill DRM once and for all.
We are you calling it counterfeit. It is chinese and its not kindle.
Just think, the next time you buy a Chinese product you sre saying, "China is my friend".
The internals are very much different. And it isn't like Amazon is going to lose anything in the Asian market because of this. That is because they don't have a kindle asian market! If Amazon didn't make it a jump-thru-30000-damn-hoops process to read chinese (let alone use a chinese dictionary [i've been working on it for a while and I'm just getting past a hurdle to discover that it seems Amazon made the kindle to be hard to use other dictionaries]) I love my kindle2 but as soon as this comes out (maybe even if I can pre-order it) I'll be dropping that piece of crap on ebay like a hot potato.
The only part that's a "knock off" is the button layout.
Other than that it's just a generic brand ebook reader. Looks like a reasonably nice one, as well.
It's not as though Amazon invented the concept of a book reader, after all.
