AT&T charges Mythbuster star $11k for hours of data
Adam Savage, star of the TV show Mythbusters, says AT&T charged him $11,000 for "a few hours of web surfing in Canada." Now he's leading a revolt on Twitter, according to TechCrunch. The story suggests that "AT&T needs to work on letting its customers know when they’re spending exorbitant amounts of money on data charges." Yeah, no kidding. This whole episode provides yet an additional point in my contention that "Apple should dump AT&T."

Comments:
but would ANY of the major carriers be any different on whether those charges would apply; the only difference would be the amount.
The whole AT&T sucks thing is getting old. If Apple chose TMobile, Sprint, or Verizon, etc. it would be different in the details, but people would still say they suck. All of these providers have to invest in a significant amount of infrastructure and have to deal with their own recurring costs as well. Technology keeps changing, requiring further upgrades. Prices are determined by the market, not by the cost it takes to produce.
