Why the Palm Pre will fail
I'm not here to bash the Pre. Really! I think it's a fantastic phone, and for many users far superior to any other. It's just that no matter how much the power users love it, the Pre is not ready for business, can't top iPhone for consumers and is entering the market at the worst possible time. I honestly think the phone has lost all its hype since its debut. what does it really offer over what any other touchscreen phones on the market?
also, I heard palm is planning on a cheaper model, the 'eos'. it looks kinda like the 'treo'. I bet it will do better. I owned a Treo Pro and it was such a piece of junk, I will never buy Palm again.
I think you're going to feel really stupid for making a prediction that the Pre is going to fail. You're whole entry is three sentences that just says it's bad timing. You couldn't be more wrong, smartphone sales are going up. Nice try though, I guess you just wanted to be different.
I agree that it will likely take 3rd place. I think that is what you mean by fail.
As for going out of business type of fail. It is subsidized by Sprint by hundreds and hundreds of dollars. All that going straight to Palm's bottom line.
In an non-subsidized market I would be surprised if there would be room for so many phones to surive.
Keep up the great work BTW, I recently found your blog and enjoy it very much.
