You guys are wrong... Vergatario in Venezuela means "Fantastic" or "awesome". Maybe you are mistaken by the mexacan word "Verga" which means Penis in Mexico and Spain. :)

Actually, while the "verga" in "Vergatario" could mean "penis" (aside from a NUMBER of other Venezuelan swear words) -- the word "vergatario" is used to imply something's 'THE' shit. Still rude though.

Lol, Vergatorio in venezuelan slang is a very old school word for something amazing. Verga is the biggest mast in a sail ship, so in connotation is the biggest-most important part of "something".
in other southamerican countries, verga is slang for Penis.. connotation that is not hard to figure.
Vergatorio is just fucking jewel of a name. and its just a cheap actually well constructed phone for the masses and people cant afford an iphone.

But "Verga" which is what you are referring to, is not used normally as "penis", it is mostly used to refer to almost anything while taking to other friends, not in a formal conversation of course.
not exactly accurate... "verga" is slang for penis only in Argentina / Uruguay, and perhaps Chile. In Venezuela, "vergatorio" means "the latest (cool) thing". Chavez already makes a mockery of himself without the need of making up stuff like this feed does.

the connotation for vergatario is badass, is a popular term in maracaibo, he used with the intention of getting to the common people is considered a bad word but he doesn't care, which i like.

Just so you know, "Vergatario" is a conjunction of "mandatario" (a person holding an important corporate position), and "verga" which in Venezuela, aside for being a slang word for "dick" is a vulgar way and condescending way of saying "thing" (ex: "esa verga", "that piece of shit" would be a good equivalent). Venezuelans use the word "vergatario" in ridicule to business executives. The phone was given this name as a joke.

I'll spoil the fun and point out that in Western Venezuelan slang, "vergatario" really means something like "wicked cool" - taking the wang wang thing too literally is a bit like seeing an ad that says a phone is "wicked cool" and thinking they're advertising "a frigidly evil phone"...
The phone is called "Vergatario" not "Vergatorio" as said before... and "Vergatario" means something or someone that is an expert in some area or job... not penis.

In reality vergatario is a slang that can be used and interpreted in many ways. The word is used specifically in a region of Venzuela and it means that it is the best and taht nothing compares to it. It is still considered a vulgar slang and it is a shame that the Venezuelan president is using to promote a phone.
As much as I hate Chavez I have to make clear that is not "VergatOrio" is "VergatArio" and it doesn't stand for "penis." This word is used in some regions of Venezuela and its used to refer to people (or things) who can manage to do extraordinary things or things that surprise others. Yes, "Verga" means "penis" if we use a safe translation but in Venezuela when someone is called you're a d*ick.. it really means you're a genius... not that you are bald and can't think ;)

I really hate Chavez because his is becoming a Dictator. But in Venezuela when we use the word "Vergatario" is to state that something is really extraordinary and amazing. Even when "Verga" is use to reffer to a "Penis"

I laugh at everyone calling Chavez a dictator, the whole private media is against him and out to get him.
