Prediction Fail: 'Obama Will Not Be Next President'

A man named Leland Freeborn, a survivalist Christian "prophet," had predicted that Barack Obama would never become president. He had also predicted that Obama would lose the election, that riots would spread across the US, and that the "old, hard-line Soviet guard" would take advantage of the riots to attack the US with nuclear weapons, which would kill one third of the population. (He predicted all this would happen by December.) I understand why Freeborn made his predictions: He's an idiot whack-job. What I don't understand is why he has a cult-like following in Utah, or why the Los Angeles Times published a big story about his predictions in the December 13 issue.

Guess he was way off base, huh? Well, too bad, so sad....I say "woohoo!" for President Obama! Very glad this whackjob's predictions didn't come true..Change has truly come to America, in so many ways..This is historic, I'm proud to be part of it, and I'm proud of America for voting for the right man!

It's not. But outing bad predictions is my new hobby: http://itmanagement.earthweb.com/features/article.php/3794006

Some dude claims to be able to see the future, sees nuclear war and sees Obama not becoming president. How is that criticism of Obama?

In my case, I'm not criticizing Obama's critics. If anything, I'm criticizing 1) people who gain followings by making doom-and-gloom predictions that never come true but freak people out anyway; 2) the media for giving so much coverage to such morons; and 3) people who follow such lunatics out of religious stupidity.

This is more or less the idea we europeans have of US citizens. I'm glad you proved the contrary. Change has come!

Today we have the right to political, even in this blog.

Unfortunately by blogging about it, you give the nutjobs even more publicity. I had no idea who this guy was until I read about him on The Raw Feed.

I really believe he should go elsewhere, he is giving the white race a bad name and espousing a very non Christian attitude. How about Haiti?

Doomsayers have , historically, gotten an undeserved amount of attention: "sin writes history, while goodness is silenced", some one once said. These luddites need to be ignored and like the entropic vibes they emit they will fade away , unnoticed in thier closets that are symbols of the limited perimeter of their vision and percerption.

These sad little creatures fear change due to changes might require them to re-think the preconceptions and predudices and perform responsible thinking and behaviours--they arescared and lazy and sling mud to pitifully attempt to hide their inadequacies.

Due to Bushes riegn of retarded nazi police state tactics, I havent been very optimistic about our nation's future . Now I think i feel a bit of hope. Mr. Obama seems to be a change of pace we need...for what it worth I support him and am thankful that thing are changing ...finnally....very cool!!

A critical analisis of the New Testament might lead one to the conclusion that with that new dispensation it posits "prophets" are a thing put away, an old testament occurence. I have studied God's word 30 years, seriously and i get the distinct impression this old trouble maker isnt really in touch spiritually.

I do not believe in prophets no more than I believe in Messiahs.
Simply and clearly US needed some fresh air over washington and found it on the face of Obama.
As for whether Obama shall leave his mark or his stain, it simply down to the same possibilities with every other potential president of US. Times are troubled and challenging. Shortly we will know the answer of failure or success.

Enjoy the change. It will NOT be the change you want. America is in for a rough time ahead. Obama will lead his sheepies straight to hell.
His economic policy will drag the USA into a depression worst than the one of the 30's.
