New York State May Tax All Media Downloads

New York Governor David Paterson is considering a new, statewide tax on all "digitally delivered entertainment services," which would include iTunes downloads, Amazon Kindle books and other content, as well as games.

I assume that this tax would also be applied to movie downloads from Amazon and Netflix to your TiVo, Xbox, or other media centers?

I was under the impression that taxing intangible items was ruled against in the Supreme Court...I, of course, could be wrong...

Regardless, this is just stupid anyway. Here goes NY trying hard to prove "Big Brother" exists...

Let's not cut back on wasteful programs. Let's not remove New York pork spending. After all, this is what the voters must want -- more taxes and less take-home pay.
