That magazine was pretty horrible honestly. I had a free subscription and after awhile tended to throw them away as soon as I got them. RIP though I suppose.

Good thing I have my other magazines while I am visiting my daily office.

What a bummer. First retail stores crumble, now magazines are withering away.

Sounds like PC Magazine has found a new way to distribute their magazine. This new method of distribution sounds like a great idea, but I don't understand why they're not printing the magazine as well.

thanks from Tony

This magazine used to rock, but went seriously downhill in the last few years. It became a bland consumer electronics advisor rather than a true PC magazine. Also, the amount of content shrunk tremendously. In the past year I could read the entire issue in the time it took to take one decent crap.

Coincidence: I was cleaning out old issues from the late 90s and noticed how much thinner the recent ones are. Recalled that the same thing happened to Byte magazine - got thinner and thinner and then - poof!

How can I get my money back? I just re-subscribed but don't want online-only.

Definitely garbage. 89 % of the magazine are adds and product reviews. Wired is much better!!!

I cancelled mine a few years ago, when they were automatically going to renew my subscription and told me I owed them money. I cancelled 3 months before my subscription was due to expire, due to their unethical business practices.

That's interesting. I guess I won't be receiving anymore free issues from them.

Not much of a loss. The quality of PC magazine is far behind C't magazine.

People's tastes change, if they want to stay in business they'd better comply. They started when a PC/Laptop was above $3000, so benchmarking is no longer needed now, what is needed is decent editorial to solve the puzzle of the whole digital thing.

Wired magazine is really good, only $10 per year - but not very PC-centric

I think the real news is that there are actually still print magazines about computers. Must be for those who can't figure out how to use them properly :)
