Can President Obama Kick His CrackBerry Addiction?

The New York Times today published a piece on Barack Obama's BlackBerry habit. They suggested that he may choose to stop using it after he's sworn in January 20, and give many reasons why he might do so. Can he? Will he? Should he? I say no to all three questions. In fact, I PREDICT OBAMA WILL UPGRADE TO THE BLACKBERRY BOLD, and that White House staff will refer to it as his "BarackBerry."

Everyone I work with has a Blackberry. I refuse. My manager mentions it EVERY time I have a review. I won't have one. I want to be in control of my life.

Yes.

Have you never heard the term "CrackBerry"?

Hell, I've used it myself no fewer than 27 times on this blog alone.

What is the big deal, crackberry, applies to white, black, asian, don't be retarded guys. Crackberry just happens to rhyme with Blackberry, what would you have called a device that a given person is addicted to and just happens to be showing and mentioned in a blog? Exactly..

I don't think it's racist at all. Crackberry addiction is pretty universal and affects most people who have them. The new information provided by the Blackberry stimulates the brain, which can be addictive. However, the frequency of notifications and amount of time spent using these devices can be pretty disruptive. Can you imagine President Obama's Blackberry going off in the middle of a public address or important meeting? This is the real issue. According to a blog I recently read (http://www.touchmarketingblog.com/), the disruption of these devices will cause a social backlash where people’s lives are constantly invaded. Even though Obama is tech savvy, he can’t exactly play around with his BB during meetings, while America struggles financially.
