Would You Buy Furniture From Microsoft?

Microsoft might be getting into the furniture business. The company is apparently contemplating the development of a consumer version of Microsoft Surface, the company’s advanced multi-touch table-top computer now available only to companies that want to use it for promotions in hotels, casinos and at cell phone stores. The MICROSOFT FURNITURE in question would be a kitchen table. Here's how you'd use it, according to Microsoft:
"While eating breakfast, read newspaper headlines and e-mail, get updated on the daily commute, or use your fingers to expand your calendar and get details on the day’s events.” And you can use it to "help your children with their homework or oversee their play activities while getting dinner ready."
The question is, would you buy one? (Let me know in the comments area.)

This will be great for high-end restaurants and casinos, but not homes, well, not now at least.

seems a bit risky, unless the surface can stand spills of all sorts of liquids and food stains.
I predict a very dirty screen.

100% no.

Call me old school (I'm 25) but I think a table should be a table.
Sturdy and easy to use.

I can just picture:
"Aw, no! You spilt gravy all oer my table!"
"Sorry"
"Sorry? You just cost me 2000 bucks!"

Neat for hotels and such, though.

The thought of spilling something on your Microsoft table has already been remedied. I mean come on you think the thing would not be spill proof? I love the idea of doing homework with my kids on that table. In addition, the applications are unlimited and I see it in every household if the price is right.

I would prefer it if it was something I could plug directly into my laptop instead of it having its own "brains", that way I don't have replace my existing computer with it. It would also get it under $300 quickly, which is really the most I would pay over the price of a regular table.

Hey, where's the marketing department for this project? Someone should talk to them, haha!

if it were to be like any other open sourced application, that we would be able to integrate with contemporary computer software, this would be a fantastic idea.

Just think of 2 points, no more bulky newspapers, and by implementing them into schools, no more unneccessary killing of trees, and less ppl whinging about global warming.

brilliant, i hoped as a child these would appear sumtime in mi lifetime, i hope they r.
