Worst USB Gadget Yet: USB Drive Full Of Beer

Someone from tchotchky seller CNK Promotions sent me a note hawking a new line of attention-grabbing "LIQUID-FILLED USB DRIVES," with the "option of 3D 'floaters'." The example pasted into the e-mail was this awesome -- I mean awful -- Budweiser drive. Capacities range from 128 MB to 8 GB, and prices from $8.84 each to $40 depending on capacity, options and how many you order.

I don't know about USB drives in general, but the drives I've used getting really warm and even hot after some use. So, putting beer and heat together doesn't seem like a good idea to me ...

Pricing is cheaper than that. Min order is only 250 pcs at 128MB for 10.38.

I doubt that's really beer in there, probably some kind of oil. Unless the inner workings of the flash are epoxied up, it'd be a bad idea.

Lemme see. One fat beer enthusiast with a liquid filled usb drive puts it in his back pocket and slightly cracks the plastic because his/her arse is too big, causing to liquid to seep out. And, oh yeah, I need to copy that file from my work computer.

A really nice idea considering when you are using it for a long time since it generates a lot of heat. The boiling point of beer is really high(hope i am right). :)

actually putting heat and liquid is a good idea if you are familiar with physics. You know those xray tubes which produce tremenduce amount of heat? around the tube is liquid oil. Cars and radiators, etc etc... Liquid discipates heat much faster than solids

The liquid has to be moving. Like your cars radiator. Dumb ass.

.....you're putting a liquid encased in a capsule made of some plastic that is going to hold information, and at one point or another be plugged into a computer that emits electricity......How does that make ANY sense? What happens if something cracks/leaks/bursts due to the heat+beer concept.....

Does anybody else think the designers would have thought about all the morons who would fret over heat and liquid and electricity and made sure it wouldn't break under normal circumstances, LIKE ANY OTHER PRODUCT IN THE WORLD?
