Obama Ad Posted On Billboard. In Xbox Game.

If you're fed up with the presidential campaign, and want to get away from it with a little Xbox escapism, don't play Burnout Paradise. The racing game features VIRTUAL BILLBOARDS URGING GAMERS TO VOTE FOR OBAMA. Is the addition of political ads in console games change you can believe in?

This is just showing that the Obama capmaign is trying to reach the younger Americans out there with some viral advertising.

Microsoft started this cool little thing a while ago where they place advertisements in their games. It's not Microsoft telling you how to vote, it's just them making an advertising profit.

If McCain's campaign wanted to advertise in a game, they could. Nothing is stopping them.

Yes we can... (Sorry, couldn't resist).

No surprise here, Obama has been consistently nimbler in putting new technology to good use.

His campaign was the first to rent a satellite channel 24/7 for a whole month (Channel 73 on Dish Network), update enthusiasts about his running mate pick by cell phone (thus creating a solid database for texting his get-out-the-vote messages to the faithful when the time comes), and build an iPhone app geared at the 'casual volunteer' who may not have days or weeks to spare, but certainly has a few minutes now and then to motivate a friend in a battleground state.

Simple, pragmatic stuff, that so far seems to work.

Even better if the game let you smash the billboards.
