New Apple Ad Hits Microsoft On Vista Ad Spend
Apple has been hitting Microsoft hard with "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" ads for years. Finally, Microsoft hit back with a big-budget ad showing how PC users are real people. Now Apple has countered with a new ad SLAMMING HOW MUCH MICROSOFT SPENDS ON VISTA ADVERTISING (and how little it spends on "fixing Vista"). Ouch!

Comments:
as a pc user, but not a mac hater, i've enjoyed the mac commercials and the tit-for-tat w/ Microsoft just makes it better.
but it makes me wonder: is the Mac campaign having the intended effect of increasing mac sales? if anyone comes across some stats, i'd be interested in a link. thanks.
Poor Apple babies! How much did they spend on the "1984" ad, that was used one time? That one should take the prize for cost/view.
the fact that you remember that ad from 24 YEARS AGO shows just how much it was worth every penny ...
I think the really funny part is that most of the Microsoft ads were done on a Mac!
Actually, you have a point in regard to remembering an ad from 24 years ago, however, if it didn't increase sales, then I personally don't see how it was worth anything to Apple. I remember many commercials, some are very creative (like the Big Fig Newton one "Here's the tricky part") but they did not make me go out and buy their products (the fig newton one did though). Anyway...I would like to see Microsoft stop spending so much money on advertising and instead make Vista a less expensive product and improve its capabilities!!!
A great comback. Those "I'm a PC" windows ads were/are really good.
I'm enjoying these back and forth subtle shots at each other.
They should release them all on DVD :)
Oh, please! Apple spends more money on negative advertising than politicians. Show me why I should vote... I mean buy a Mac instead of just insulting your competitor.
Maybe Apple should lower the price on their laptops instead of complaining about Microsoft's spend.
Just appreciating the irony of a company with overpriced machines taking a shot at a company with mediocre software. Pot meet kettle....
Love this commercial but I'm surprised it took them so long to catch on.
This is the way Microsoft always operates. They sink money into advertising/marketing a crap product instead of developing a decent one or fixing the problem. They've been doing it for the last 30+ years so while funny, this commercial falls far short of being a revelation.
