Toshiba very quietly demonstrated a TINY POCKET PROJECTOR at a recent European trade show. It's the same size as an HTC Touch Pro, but tosses up a whopping 10 Lumens! (That's good, right?) Details are few, but I have both pictures and a video demonstration of brightness!

10 Lumens... That's basically a toy. A real projector emits from 300 to 3000 lumens. Professional models can go even higher. Below 300 requires a very dark room. Of course the bigger the picture, the less light per square inch as well. Also, even the real projectors have in some cases gotten very small - smaller than half a laptop and certainly small enought to fit in your briefcase with your laptop.
All that being said, yes, it's pretty cool having this fit in your pocket. I suppose there are some applications for something like this connected to a phone in a ultra-portable application.
This is very cool. I predict Japan will have a projector in a cell phone in about 2 years.
