Starbucks' Secret Menu... What's a "Black Eye"?

Starbucks has a menu, which we're all familiar with. But it also has a "secret menu" -- drinks you can order that have never been on the menu. Here are the drinks I'm aware of from Starbucks' secret menu:
Short anything. (The advertised sizes are "Tall," "Grande" and "Venti." But anything can be ordered in a less expensive and smaller "Short" size as well. They have official-but-secret prices for all short drinks and everything.)
Short cappuccino. (A "Short" cappuccino is closer to the traditional cappuccino drink as it existed before Starbucks invented the practice of adding massive quantities of milk.)
Red Eye. (Drip coffee with a shot of espresso.)
Black Eye. (Drip coffee with two shots of espresso.)
Ghetto Latte. (Don't say "Ghetto Latte" when you order. Just order an Iced Americano, with no water and half ice, then go to the condiments bar and add a lot of half-and-half. This exact same drink is sold by Starbucks as a Breve Latte, which costs much more.)
Ghetto Chai Latte. (Don't say "Getto Chai Latte." Order a Chai Tea Misto with two tea bags, half cinnamon and half vanilla syrup and extra foam. Cheaper than a real Chai Latte.)
Cafe au Lait. (Order the Misto without foam for an old French favorite.)
French pressed coffee. (You can choose any coffee they sell by the bag served in a French press!)
Anything. It's Starbucks' official policy to make you anything you want from ingredients they have. So if you want them to put a shot of espresso, a large tea and White Chocolate Mocha into a blender, served with whipped cream and cherry syrup on top, then have to do it. They'll charge you for everything, though.

Comments:
Obviously you are not a business man.
Yes, we'll make anything you want with ingredients we have....to a point. Yes, if someone wants a white mocha caramel latte, we'll make it. However we'll only charge for the more expensive syrup and the others, they will be free. We do our best to provide a great coffee experience to each and every customer. Our store does French Press coffees all the time and will even brew a bold roast when it's nightime if customer has the time.
Thank you for educating them with the "Black Eye" and "Red Eye" drinks, they are ordered all the time.
We do not offer "Ghetto" drinks. If we see that we are loosing money with people filling their drinks over half way of cream, we will end up putting cream in for them and charging them for a half a cup or more. It's already expensive enough for consumers with our economy the way it is, why encourage us to charge more? The point is to provide a great cup of coffee at a gourmet level and not get overly pricey like restaurants. Our prices are fair for what we have to pay for product to serve, we pay the same higher prices to our vendors. Don't take our profit away from us. First it will be the cream, what next?
Sincerely, Starbucks Dedicated
***** a great cup of coffee at a gourmet level *****
You're joking, right? Starbucks drinks are all about pumping as much fat and sugar as possible into the bodies of the most obese nation in history.
When I want a good cup of coffee, I'll go to Peet's.
Mike
When I want a great cup of coffee , I will stay home and brew it myself rather than wasting gas money and time waiting in line behind coffee snobs,

"... and not get overly pricey ..."
Nobody on God's green earth believes Starbucks is reasonably priced. The customers are all just weak-willed and/or lazy.
And good luck getting people to pity you and your poor international corporation; "don't take our profit away from us?" I mean, really? Are you aware just how full of crap you sound?
A barista at Half Moon Bay also mentioned the green eye: coffee with three shots of espresso...

You evil rich oil, I mean coffee companies with your ridiculous profit margins must be brought to your knees, with government taxation if possible.
Power to the people! Change! Hope! BS.
p.s. Barista = slacker who needs a fancy name to inflate their self esteem
Since there needs to be MORE of en education given. I'll take the challenge.
Mike, you said, "Starbucks drinks are all about pumping as much fat and sugar as possible into the bodies of the most obese nation in history. "
Thats if people want the sugar and fat. we offer sugar free syrups and non fat milk in nearly everything.
now, bkhuna and anonymous.
let me explain our pricing. I will give you just 4 reasons of the many, our coffee is a step above the rest and a little pricier.
reason 1: we really do search and find, the richest and BEST coffee beans from around the world, to use in our coffee.
starbucks is more than just a cup of coffee. it's an experience. laugh if you wish, but you can't tell me that you feel more welcomed in some corner donut shop, then you do att starbucks.
reason 3. quadruple water filtration system so you have the CLEANEST water, which is important in a GOOD cup of coffee. get that at home?
reason 3. the biggest reason. we use C.A.F.E. Practices. Coffee and Farmer Equity practices. Which means that we pay the farmers in unfortunate countries, whom we get the beans from, enough money for the coffee so they can support their families.
If we support them, in turn, they will support us. So we can serve an experience at starbucks that enriches peoples daily lives.
Thank you and good day.

In-store specialty and seasonal drinks are basically milkshakes with caffeine -- loaded with sugar, covered with whipped cream or foam and often topped with some syrup. This is the kind of thing Starbucks *promotes* during an obesity epidemic.
Nearly all the food Starbucks offers has about four times the amount of sugar necessary to be sweet.
It's obvious looking at Starbucks' promotions and its food that the company is deliberately hooking people on sugar so they'll come back for more.
For the sugar-free sweetener, what does Starbucks use? (Note: I know you won't answer this question because the substance is linked to cancer.)
***** starbucks is more than just a cup of coffee. it's an experience. *****
It's the experience of hypothermia. Most Starbucks I've been in keep the room tempurature in the 50's or 60's for the comfort of the Baristas, who are near hot coffee making machines.
Mike
I love Starbucks and I do not think they are overpriced at all. If you want a regular coffee then they cost maybe a few cents more then 7-11, however, it is quality you are guaranteed. Not to mention a shot of expresso, which you cannot get at 7-11 or Royal Farm Stores. All in all, I am a middle working class mother of 3 who loves her Starbucks!!!
As a barista and coffee-snob, I must disagree with the haters in the room. Yes, Starbucks is expensive, we all know that. But what you get is quality. Having been behind the espresso bar and having tasted all the different coffees we brew I won't drink anything else. I can't bring myself to waste 99 cents at 7-11 on coffee that has been standing since 4 in the morning or a "cappuccino" (crappy latte) that is more sugar than anything.
For those of you whining about the price- try a misto instead of a latte. It can be done flavored with the same syrups and is less expensive than a latte. (Try a misto mexicano- mocha and cinnamon) Or if you are of the notion that Sbux coffee is too strong, ask for extra room for cream or have the barista add a half inch of hot water to dilute it down.
You pay for quality. Check back to the poster about our C.A.F.E. practices and the quality control. Fact is that only 5% of the beans grown in the world even qualify to be used.
It costs Starbucks $0.05 to make a drink. This is a fact, not an exaggeration, therefore they cannot lose money if you add your own milk.
Look, Starbucks may not be selling the healthiest of products. Obesity may very well be on the rise. But guess what? It all comes down to a simple choice. It's up to you. I like Starbucks. I work there. I enjoy it. I know it's not particularly good for me but I drink it in moderation. Don't blame a corporation for obesity. Blame the person who goes there. Drinking Starbucks coffee is not mandatory. We're not beating you over the head. Obviously I can tell certain people on this blog greatly dislike Strabucks. Good for you! You don't have to go there. As for the baristas. We're ordinary people. We're no better than you. I get a lot of nice customers and a lot of stuck-up customers. I can't speak for every barista but I always try to be cheery even on a bad day. It's a job. It pays the bills. The prices. Sure they're expensive. There are certain things in this world I know I can't afford on a daily basis. You can always go somewhere else if it's too expensive. I personally enjoy their coffee. Did so before I started working there. I don't only pay for the coffee. I pay for the environment. The employees I work with are fun to be around both before I worked there and even still. I just don't get that same feeling at other coffee shops. Well, there are a couple of those family owned coffee shops that I love to go to when I pass one by. But, in general. And I'm not here to fight. Just felt like throwing my two cents in... Oh, and sorry if my comments are a little disorganized. I'm a little tired...
You're all annoying. Starbucks is an amazing company where I've been employed for over two years. We do everything in our power to satisfy the customers. I'm sorry that we can't change the prices, it's not up to us. Douche bags.
The starbucks I went to was pretty jacked. I ordered just a normal cup of water with strawberry syrup... and they always charge only 30 cents for the syrup since water is free. so I went to starbucks everyday for a week and ordered that same thing. but on the last day, they got annoyed, and they charged me $2.10 because "the rules have now changed". When I asked why it wasnt 30 cents, the man got anal with me and started telling me that just because their teabags are 25 cents doesnt mean the tea they serve will be 25 cents. and then blah blah blah... so i got mad and left.... jacked men
