Microsoft to Pull Failed Seinfeld, Gates Ads
I told you about a new series of Windows Vista ads staring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates August 21, September 4 and September 11. Now, Microsoft has basically admitted the ads bombed, and has FIRED JERRY SEINFELD. (Bill Gates is not so easy to fire, so he may be back in future ads.) Valleywag broke the story. The series will sorta, kinda go on, but not with Seinfeld. Microsoft's PR people told Vallewag that, "People would have been happier if everyone loved the ads, but this was not unexpected."

No innovation!
No creativity!
No big surprise!
As much as I thought the ads were pointless and lame, I must admit, that in a weird way, I looked forward to every one. Just to see how randomly strange they would be.
I'm curious as to the firing of Seinfeld though....did he actually WRITE the ads? Because the idea of Bill Gates and Sienfeld hanging out is still a decent idea.
He just didn't want to do the next ad in the series:
"Vista's slow, it's fat, my software doesn't work, I can't get drivers, the User Access Control's a pain in the ass and my network grinds to a crawl when I play an mp3! What do you call that?"
"... The Aristocrats!"
Conceived by nerds for nerds instead of for the general public. Another Microsoft failure with plenty more to come.
It's only a matter of time before Apple owns the desktop.
Go Steve go!
Just tell them Diddy said use Vista
