Brit Who Invented iPod Lives In Poverty, Obscurity

The iPOD CONCEPT WAS INVENTED BY A BRIT NAMED KANE KRAMER, who had to sell his home recently for financial reasons. Meanwhile, the iPod remains one of Apple's most profitable products. (props to Cult of Mac)

Having read the article, I wouldn't say that having to move into an apartment is living in "poverty".

How many patents were released for the incandescent light bulb before Edison released his own?

I thought about the iphone concept more than 7 years ago, but not by that I feel myself as the true inventor of iphone.

there are several reasons, one of them is that it's aparition is part of the normal evolution of computers and just was a matter of time until somebody manufactured it.

this is the same.

Proving once again "inventing" a concept is not as valuable as marketing a product.

The title of this article is sensationalistic. This guy did not "invent the iPod" any more than 1000 other guys, including one of the other readers of the raw feed...

You'd think that Apple invented the mp3 player with the way people are talking. Whats next, Apple invented the mobile phone!?

I like gamma's point. A small hand-held device that plays MP3 and OGG is a fairly simple concept. But somehow Apple's marketing convinced us that we all had to have their MP3 player.

(Well, they never convinced me...)
