What If China's Orwellian Olympics Succeeds?

By the end of the Olympic games, we'll know whether the Chinese government's unprecedented application of state-of-the-art digital technology to Orwellian social control can actually work. WHAT IF THE EXPERIMENT SUCCEEDS?

Regretfully, people are sheep. the majority will do as told and happily look the other way. UK citizens can´t go anywhere without being filmed. US Citizens got it worse with your lovely president & crew writing history as they please and imposing whatever crazy new control law they cap pass. Has anyone done anything about it ? No, becasue they are scared of the big bad wolf they´ve been told is around the corner so they feel the ilussion of safety trough those control methods. Sadly I predict this to be only th ebeggining.

A friend of mine told me that actually, Singapore has already implemented the vision you were writing about. This friend working in the upper echelons of government was invited over to a colleague's office during a break where as an example of what they can do, they listed his movements and people he had associated with in some detail. (for instance at 3:30 pm X entered store Y, left at 3:43 pm, entered store Z at 3:45 pm, met person A, purchased B, C and D for $$$ etc etc)

They apparently have integrated their various systems into a very powerful unified system, able to track movements and activities at a few keystrokes. I won't give the name of my source.

“….You see control can never be means to any practical end…. It can never be a means to anything but more control….

William Burroughs was right then, and he's right here. Now.
