Microsoft Labs Releases Outlook 'Email Prioritizer'

Darn it. Just as I liberate myself from Microsoft Outlook, the Microsoft Office Labs team has to go and do something like this: They've released a prototype plug-in for Outlook 2007 that re-arranges e-mail in your inbox based on which is most important. How does it determine this? It uses an impressive algorithm to analyze each message based on the relationship of sender to recipient, time sent -- even key phrases in the message. Email Prioritizer has two really useful features:

1. When you change the priority of a message, the system "learns" from this, and tries harder next time; and

2. It has a "Do Not Disturb" feature, which makes e-mail go away for the amount of time you specify before re-appearing in your inbox.
