Tel Aviv University researchers claim to have successfully "taught" a computer to recognize whether or not a female face is HOT OR NOT. After schooling the computer on such attributes as face geometry and symmetry, skin quality and hair color, the computers generally agreed with humans when judging women's faces on a scale of 1 to 7.

Sounds awesome! Now you can add this s/w to match.com and have the service automatically sort your prospects... Then of course someone will need to come up with a program that takes your picture and enhances it slightly to increase your score...then the propeller heads will need to detect if the picture being analyzed has been enhanced...
They should name that machine Shallow HAL 9000.
They also need a program to tell if you have a hot body. Sometimes a chick doesn't care about your face, she just likes big guns on a guy and that's it. And for dudes, we like a well shaped (put your favorite body part here!).
If you extracted the same data from the works of Titian and Rubens and fed it into the software then my mother in law would be "hot".
Don't see a Nobel prize here.

We all are.. asholes trying to judge what makes a face hot while one's hot girl(no matter what)is hooking up someone else who thinks she is hot
This is the beginning of the perfect solution. I can manipulate my image so that the computers thinks I am hot, submit it to a dating sites, to be matched up with other suitably manipulated image, then I can fill my auto-chat 5000 software with some suitably manipulative pick up lines, and an invitation to a nice quiet bar in Real World 2.0 and let my computer run my entire love life for me,... so I can duck off to the beach to chat up some babes in the fresh air.
What geek living in his parents basement thought this up. People naturally know when another person is attractive to them. Some people think different attributes are attractive. Nobodys beauty is black and white, and no computor should be able to judge someones facial attributes soley on a mathmatical equation.
