New Brit Security Camera Sees Through Clothes
I told you January 14 that the U.S. Transportation Security Administration had bought 12 devices from a UK company called Qinetiq that enable security people to see concealed weapons, even in crowds of people walking fast. Now, another UK company has developed another device that does the same thing. The Oxfordshire-based ThruVision will reportedly unveil this week its T5000 system, which can "DETECT WEAPONS, DRUGS AND EXPLOSIVES" from up to 80 feet away. The device can "see through clothes" -- setting perverts' hearts aflutter -- but, like the Qinetiq device, the ThruVision technology doesn't allow clear pictures, just ugly blotches on a screen. These devices are impressive, but they don't do anything for the UK's reputation as the ultimate Big Brother surveillance society....

Big brother... Can anyone remember a time when the entire world would have been dismayed by this? Now there are people who actually think that this is good for us. Anything to protect us from terrorism I suppose. THIS will help our kids at school... ?
Well, it's just another way that the world can ignore the causes of our problems and simply try to negate SOME of the consequences. Instead of showing the consequences of violence on TV or in games we'll just try to keep the weapons off campus. Instead of leaving the brown people of the world alone, lets use technology to see the bombs underneath those overcoats.
Personal liberty doesn't mean much anymore.
