Neclace Monitors Medicine As You Swallow It
Researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology’s School of Electrical and Computer Engineering have invented a technology that monitors what pills you take and when. Exactly when. The invention, called MagneTrace, involves the placement of small amounts of "passable" magnets inside pills. You wear either a special NECKLACE OR SKIN PATCH, which have sensors that can detect when the medicine goes down your throat, and records the exact time and date. The information can be sent to a cell phone, then automatically relayed to the doctor or some other caregiver.
