Anti-Koran Film Posted Online, Crashes Site

I told you Sunday that Network Solutions shut down a web site created to host the 15-minute anti-Koran film "Fitna," made by Dutch politician Geert Wilder. So Wilder posted "Fitna" on the web site of his political party, the PVV. However, at the time of this posting, it appears that GOD'S WRATH SMOTE THE SITE or, more likely, traffic by all the people who want to watch the film has overwhelmed the site's servers. Here comes the (very graphic and disturbing) VIDEO.

I can't help but think this intolerance is the making of WWIII.

That's a tad optimistic, if it turns into WW3 Denmark could probably wipe out the primary countries involved themselves. The problem is our best bet for WWIII is China and/or Russia, a war against religious extremists isn't a war any more than the war on drugs is a proper war - if there's no standing army waving a political system's flag and you're fighting an incompatible ideology it's not a war. It's simply a battle of children each claiming "he started it!" and civilians get caught in the crossfire mostly because it's civilians doing the shooting from civilian areas so they can claim that the retaliation killed innocent civilians.

oh god, this is going to cause trouble.

I was hoping for more of a documentary; this wont make people think... it will make people angry, on both sides.

What's intolerance? To mention facts or to threaten to kill someone because he is about to make a movie on your religion? Let's please not forget that Muslims all over the world threatened to kill this politician after he only announced (November 2007) that he would look into the possibility of making a movie. He didn't make anything back then, just saying it was enough to recieve death threats. If we in the West think that is normal behavior, we have to think again on what made WW2 possible.

Freedom of speech must go hand in hand with social responsibility and sound moral judgement. Since when did hate mongering become socially acceptable.

You will find extremes in all walks of life. From white supremacists, to right wing neo nazis to child molesting priests.

But one generally doesn't label the whole christian faith as being bad and producing perverted child molesting homosexuals ?

Hate only begets hate and violence only begets violence. And in this day and age one should always try to find good in other people.

If you are already biased and your perception has been altered by such hate pieces and other extremes views in the media, you will never be able to see the good in another individual.

Will you still feel comfortable going to a Muslim doctor should there be an emergency ?

Do not let yourselves get biased by such propaganda from a political right winger.

This video is available now on youtube with subtitles. So, since when is listing all the islam-motivated terrorist attacks "racist"? These islamist extremists want to destroy the West and our way of life. And how come we don't see newspapers from Morrocco to Iran denouncing the killings and bombings? These so called peace-loving muslims should rise up and tell their terrorists brethen to stop! But they don't. And by the way, those cartoons that were printed in Denmark that caused peace-loving muslems to attack Danish embassies in the middle-east? Well they had been published in some newspapers in Cairo the year before and nobody then cared about it. Brave to see a film that should be a warning to all of us. If muslims think that we are racist because of this film, then ask them when was the last time they spoke out about islam extremist violence.
