Amazon: What Are You Hiding About the Kindle?

Amazon shipped its Kindle e-Book reader way back in November of last year -- since then, the company has tried to paint a picture of runaway success by suggesting that the incredible popularity of the device prevents the company from keeping up with orders. Is the Amazon the Kindle really a SECRET FAILURE? (DIGG IT HERE!!)

Needless secrecy?...I think not. Secrecy is the only thing keeping the Kindle alive.

It's hard to get people to adopt your product as a standard when it's a disastrous flop right out of the gate.

Amazon blew it! I was going to buy a Kindle until I read how they license the content. It's way too restrictive.

The Kindle will never take off unless the pinheads at Amazon realize that consumers want to buy and own digital books the same way they buy and own a paperback.

The desirability of the Kindle is separate from sales success. I still think everyone should buy one. I also think Amazon should tells us how many Kindles it has sold.

So when you buy a paperback at the bookstore you can post the book on your blog or email it to a friend? You can do essentially anything with a kindle book you can with a book purchased in a store and its half the price.

Not to mention that you can download Project Gutenburg books onto your kindle on the cellular wireless Amazon pays for for free.
