High-Pitched, Anti-Teen Gadget Under Threat
I told you May 25, 2006, and June 8, 2006, about a device called the Mosquito alarm, which emits a noise so high only teenagers can hear it, and which is used to prevent teens from hanging out at malls and elsewhere. (I also told you about the use of the noise as a ringtone only teens can hear.) Now, the Children's Commissioner for England, Albert Aynsley-Green, is proposing the ILLEGALIZATION OF THE MOSQUITO ALARM there because he says it "infringes the rights of young people." [UPDATE 10:18 PM 2/13/2008] -- The Mosquito alarm won't be banned.

Comments:
The UK also said they have no plans to ban the devices despite the protests. An alternative proposal is to ship everyone under 25 to Australia.
Some of us in the +40 group can still hear in this range. My daughter had a supposedly silent ring tone to adults on her cell phone and it drove me crazy every time I would hear it ring.
The best way to deal with all them trouble kids is to superglue them all together in a long line and lock them in the back room

Any way I can get this in a whistle? It would be an awesome discipline device. As a parent of 3 kids, disciplining in public is awkward and cumbersome. Something like this might actually make things easier. Its worth a shot anyway.
this "silent" ring tone is amazing! i gotta thank the guy who thought of this! its a big help durring class
