Biometric Social Security Cards Proposed
Two Illinois congressmen introduced a bill today that would replace the existing paper social security card with a tamper-proof, biometric, photo-ID version with an embedded chip and a magnetic strip. The new card might reduce the current rampant market for fake social security cards (used mainly by illegal immigrants) and reduce one of the most common avenues to IDENTITY THEFT.

What a great idea! What took them so long. Europeans have had for years national id cards, which we should have, but this super-delux social security card looks like a great idea.
Nothing is tamper proof.
This is just more Big Brother.
Your Papers SIR!
Very wisely said! Nothing is tamper proof. But I think the new proposed card is a better card than what we currently have which is just a piece of paper with text on it, something that is so easily fabricated, on the sly, ifyouknowwhatimean....
I see one problem with that card. My wallet isn't big enough to hold it...
I first read about the proposal for new social security cards on Global Grind and I dont think that it is a good idea. This is just another way for the government to keep track of people. Sounds the new world order is coming into effect.
I think this card will make identity theft easier than ever. With recent news reports of lost or stolen Lap Tops with 'sensitive' information, with the increased of technology savvy people willing to use their ability for less than noble acts, with the desire of elected officials (on both sides of the aisle) to increase 'security' (control?), etc. I think it is time to make a run back to the Land and use some good all fashion 'you mess with me I will hunt you down and shoot you' kind of protection. Also, as I read the article I thought to myself "I wonder if this would have anything to do with the Mark of the Beast?"
