U.S. General to Pentagon: Let Troops Blog

U.S. Army Lt. Gen. William B. Caldwell IV wrote -- where else? -- in a blog that American troops, including those in war zones, should be ALLOWED TO BLOG and post photos and videos. Currently the Pentagon blocks YouTube and major blogs. But Caldwell says that policy kills an opportunity for the public to get a more balanced picture of the military. He blogged:

"The public has a voracious appetite for the sensational, the graphic and the shocking. We all have a difficult time taking our eyes off the train wreck in progress - it is human nature...When our Soldiers tell/share their stories, it has an overwhelmingly positive effect."

This is brilliant. Democracy has no need for propaganda. Equip the troops to fight the war of information.

Thats where it is heading, Blogging Wii devices for the military which can interconnect to the Internet. During times of relaxed activity if troops had a device they could Blog with their loved ones in the states and with each other as well, all this needs is a privacy setting so the Home Blogging stays unexpanded for the others to not read its content but could be managed with a passkey of the one that originated the Blog, copying a Blog entry to the device would be better than having to access from some other troops device if all the purpose was is to show what someone said about someone or something. Blogging can be a real asset, it just makes sense to provide the devices for everyone, no one is really required to acknowledge but that the fun of it cause private acknowledgements off the Blog Device makes this the method to fuel thoughts. Audio delimitation with mini inset selected lights would do the trick when such lighting is not visible beyond ten feet.

On a active engagement a Blog Device would enable so much abilities to connecting the dots rather quickly and complete a mission successfully. If these troops were divers doing a job all the layout could be right accessible and handy to see at anytime, waterproof devices are in great need everywhere and should be tested in the sea-depths for effectiveness. Cheaper than a cellular Wii phone underwater I would summize and have no send email function for those lengthy video clips you could make.

If our Pentagon acknowledges as their objective to provide our troops I would like commercial waterproof devices available as well. They do not need to make phone calls but if they were lets design them for using Skype embedded.
