Lip-Reading Computer Interface In the Works
Scientists from England's University of East Anglia's School of Computing Sciences and Surrey University are working on software that can translate face and lip movements into words. They've already built the software for tracking face and lip movements. Now all they need is a complete database of all possible combinations, and what they mean. A working prototype of their LIP-READING COMPUTER could be ready in two years. The interface could be used for giving commands to a computer even in noisy environments.

Comments:
They are currently lacking the meanings of possible lip positions and combinations, and yet they plan to have a prototype in two years? Why is it that so many developers consider meaning to be trivial? Jeff Hawkins would not be impressed, I think.
Ja, das is nicht fuched upp
Is this an outgrowth of a project that extracted dialog from Adolf Hitler's home movies?
Homeland security at it finest. It's time to speek street talk.
