Robot Never Falls When Pushed Around by Bully
New robot software enables bipedal robots to stay on their feet no matter how much they're pushed and kicked by some BULLY RESEARCHER. The software instructs the robot to respond to destabilizing forces in the same way humans do -- by flexibly re-balancing weight to prevent a fall. The software was developed by researchers at the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International in Japan. The robot they're pushing around is American, built by a company called Sarcos. Here comes the VIDEO!

I have seen a presentation of Sang-Ho Hyon a few years ago when he was in Aachen. He has a strong theoretical background in control engineering and at the same time he applies it methodically to build walking robots.
