It is amazing (and I know this as a fact from Peace Corps workers) how many poor people around the world will spend all their money on a cell phone, but not a plug-nickle for a toothbrush to keep their teeth clean. However, I don't want to appear judgemental as I have a toothbrush and don't use it as much as I should!
Cell phones? Sort of like the charity drive to give laptops to poor kids in the 3rd world....what they really need is clean running water, food, and stability.
