I guess if you're going to steal someone's design you might as well improve upon it.
Has a court decalred this MP3 player illegal? Sometimes minor changes make a design a different product although it may look similar. I expect China will soon make better and cheaper products in the near future. Remember where Japan, Taiwan, Korea were 25 yrs ago?

Nearly all lawsuits filed in China against Chinese companies for this kind of IP theft are ruled in favor of the Chinese company. The reason: The courts are simply an extension of the Communist Party, and the party is simply on a holy jihad right now to grow the economy without regard to anything else -- fairness, international law, the health of Chinese citizens -- you name it.
The Chinese government is an outlaw regime, but nobody calls it that because there's too much money to be made by everyone.
