Two Police Departments Get Hovering Drone
The Miami-Dade, Florida, and Houston, Texas, police departments will be the first police departments in the world (and the only domestic organizations licenced by the FAA) to test this very advanced "backpackable" RC drone for law enforcement. Called the Micro Air Vehicle (MAV) made by Honeywell, the drone can fly up to 10,000 feet high -- or even THROUGH A WINDOW to operate indoors -- hovering or flying fast, and transmitting live video all the while. "The unmanned aircraft will be used during SWAT team and tactical operations, especially when officers need video of a heavily armed suspect." Here comes the VIDEO!

What happens when this thing takes a bullet?
Obviously, a bullet will do some damage but this MAV weighs 14 lbs and small so the suspect would find it difficult to shot it--I think the suspect has bigger problems.
However, I have already added to my wish list on Amazon. LOL
"small so the suspect would find it difficult to shot it".
A shotgun loaded with buckshot or a high capacity assault rifle would easily solve that problem.
If one of these should break, eh... by accident, would that be killing an officer?
"A shotgun loaded with buckshot or a high capacity assault rifle would easily solve that problem."
But that's the point. They are not shooting at officers if they are shooting at this thing. I don't care how good of a shot you are, even the best shotgun ace is gonna miss a basketball sized target moving at 40mph at 500 yards, and odds are, they will be distracted long enough to be easily taken down by the cops in the meanwhile. Morons like you know nothing about tactics, taking the obvious straight ahead path, and that is exactly what the cops are counting on.
