Robot Chain Store for Kids Opens In Two Malls

A new chain store called Robot Galaxy has come to two New Jersey malls. The stores let kids BUILD ROBOTS inside the store, and even do some minimal "programming." The stores appear at present to offer dumbed-down toys for the masses. Hopefully they'll also go more upscale in the future and offer real robotics that challenge brainier kids.

I took my 8 year old son to Robot Galaxy over the weekend and he could not have been more excited about the concept. Additionally, the store was mobbed with children in his age range who were equally excited about the concept. According to their website, the store is really for kids 5-11 and for that age range, I feel that what they offer up is suitable. While I was there I even saw some young girls get in on the action by building their own robot. It seemed to be a fun place for parents to take their kids in the mall and my son has been begging me to go back ever since.

I have to say that I am so proud of my dad, Ken Pilot, for working so hard to establish Robot Galaxy! I am 15 years old and even I had fun!
