Researchers Create Emotional Software Tutor

Massey University scientist Hossein Sarrafzadeh and colleagues have created an emotionally responsive 3D animated VIRTUAL TUTORING SOFTWARE ROBOT that gauges the reactions of students by watching their facial expressions and body language via webcam. Called Eve, and part of a system called Easy with Eve, the avatar can even judge emotions through heart rates and skin resistance via a special mouse. Sarrafzadeh is part of the New Zealand university's Institute of Information and Mathematical Sciences. Here comes the VIDEO!
