Monkey In U.S. Controls Robot Legs In Japan

I told you February 17, 2005, that Scientists at the University of Pittsburgh had successfully created a robot arm and hand that can be controlled by a monkey's thought alone. Now, globalization has come to the bionic monkey business. Duke University researchers wired electrodes to a monkey's brain in North Carolina, then transmitted the signals over the Internet to CONTROL ROBOT LEGS at the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International in Kyoto, Japan. The research may lead to mind-controlled robot legs for the paralyzed.
