Canadian Fembot Hates Being Sexually Harassed
A video demo of a female robot called Aiko built by Canadian Trung Le in his basement shows him groping her. She responds by taking a slap at him, then says, "I DO NOT LIKE IT WHEN YOU TOUCH MY BREASTS."

great, just when i was looking forward to there being female fobots...
*robots haha, its 1am...
sick sick sick, this is not good as man needs to learn to live with woman, not replace her
we already know how to replace her. I've been divorced twice!!! :D
I've looked around the creator's website, and I'm really curious as to the technology behind this bot. Being a researcher in computer vision, there are a lot of unsolved problems in computer vision that this guy would have to overcome in order for Aiko to become a reality -- a good example is the object recognition end.. there is a video on the website that demos him putting various drinks in front of the robot and the robot identifying it.. I have some doubts and bet it's scripted or very limited to only the chosen examples he picked (and probably something simple like closest color match or even a simple feature clustering and best match).
on the other hand, the mechanics and plastic case covering is impressive. got to give him credit for that and putting all of this together into one giant system...
The chatting sounds a bit suspicious and too much like "Alice" :) I bet it's just some COTS voice recognition package interfaced to Alice and interfaced to some speech synthesis package.
Thank God! Finally a woman that we can program to shut the hell up when we want her to!
