Police in Florida used a bomb-disposal robot to help difuse a stand-off with a deranged, gun-weilding man who had been threatening trailer park neighbors. But the man SHOT THE ROBOT, breaking a lens, and police jumped the man and arrested him.

That begs the question, "Will the robot DESERVE a medal now?"
This sets a very scary precedent: shooting at a police robot gets the same reaction as shooting at a police officer.
it's my understanding that the robots are controlled via a joystick operator. i'm just glad the bullet was in the robot and not an officer. i don't think 1 guy in his house with a pistol warrants the whole SWAT team though. talk about a waste of taxpayer dollars for 5 hours.
