Australia May Ban Power-Hungry Plasma TVs

Most plasma TVs, and some LCD TVs as well, may be BANNED in Australia over environmental concerns about their use of power. A new rating system under consideration, which most current plasma TVs do not meet, would force their removal from stores. However, it's possible that manufacturers might be given two years to bring TVs up to spec.

What's next, will they ask the Aussies to eat kangaroo for the environment?

Kangaroo is unclean meat. They don't have cloven hoves nor chew the cud. They are also very cute.

Thanks,

I was just being sarcastic. There were several articles yesterday about how Greenpeace was recommending Aussies eat less beef and more kangaroo to help cut back on greenhouse gas emissions for the environment.

I'm impressed how australians are making all the right choices. Mobile phone social consciousness came up a few weeks ago and now energy savers on the tube. Prediction: they will lead the world.
