University Unveils Moon Mining Robot Buggy
Bot nerds at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science unveiled a four-wheeled robot concept called "Scarab" that is designed to DRILL INTO THE MOON to mine "hydrogen, possibly water and other volatile chemicals" for use at a manned moon base. The bot is super ruggedized, and can operate for long periods without solar power by using a "radioisotope source."

Comments:
Great we could use a fleet of those in the desert states to ofset the high cost of drilling for water.
