YES!!!! I have been waiting for one of these after being ran off the road by cell phone users not once but twice. I wonder what arrogant person would think their phone call is more important than my life.
Probably the same type of arrogant person who thinks they know how important other people's conversations are. Nothing like vigilante politeness police preventing a 911 call or cutting off the results of someone's biopsy. Luckily the FCC is our friend in this case...

Think this through, dude. So you see someone on the cell phone in their car. You then promptly screw up their call.
What, exactly, are you expecting to happen at that point? That some light bulb will go on in their head and they'll put the cell phone down and focus on driving?
Get real. They're going to take their eyes off the road, look at the cell phone to see what sort of signal strength they have. Then they're going to get all distracted trying to re-establish a call.

Best use for this thing is the movie theatre... well that or a baseball bat, but seems the jammer would be much less violent.
Realistacally the range is to low to zap the guy next to you on the freeway but it would be great for restaurants, movie theaters, elevators and the bus.
The debate will rage on about who has the right and everyone will always feel that they're more entitled than the next guy. Thats what happens when a society loses site of courtesy.
That being said, I plan to buy one of these and if you want to use your phone near me in small places or places designed to be quiet then "FU", go a buy a cell phone that it wont affect.

I have this exact one - bought it from some web store in India I believe. Yes, very illegal because FCC part 15 rules, but it works great. Outdoors where cell signal is strong, I don't have much luck unless I'm standing within 3 feet of the guy - sometimes not even then. But if you're indoors talking on the phone with me in the room, you're completely screwed.

I just want one of these so I can watch a movie in peace. Oh and also so I can make my coworkers get off the damn phone and do their jobs. Come to think of it, there is no downside to this product. I mean, everyone says "what if you jam someones 911 call?" but think about it seriously. How many times have you seen someone dial 911 on their cell? What are the odds you'd be using one of these things at the same time? It seems miniscule. Personally the cell phone has become too important in our lives and people who want to silence those around them should be allowed to.

This is the best thing I have ever bought. Mine will blank out cell phones within a room and use it whenever in a doctors waiting room. When I see some black person using theor cell phone, I turn my unit on since they are probably making a drug deal.
It's ideal for use on the freeway when some idiot is in the left lane and blocking traffic because they are oblivious to their surroundings while on the phone. They are more impaired than a drunk at that time. They have no choice but to wake up and pay attention.

I have been reading this for some time. To those that have stated, what about an emergency call to me. Well what did you do before the cell phone ? YOUR use of a cell phone intrudes on my privicy.
If I want to enjoy a nice meal with some conversation with whom I am with, I do not want to have someone discussing his/her sex life on a cell phone at the table next to me. If cell phone users showed some smarts, they would not intrude on others and shut their phones OFF.

Doesn't work, Period! I had this exact unit and it wouldn't even block the phone when it was touching the phone. The company Phoneja**er.com took three months to send it to me and after 15 emails complaining, I sent it back to them for a refund ... they never gave me my money back and kept the returned unit. Can you say ripoff?? Believe it or not, Paypal stepped in and gave me a courtesy refund. Avoid these scammers like Phoneja**er.com and save yourself time, money and headaches.

You ought to at least know basically how a jammer works if you are going to use one. A jammer basically transmits random noise on given frequencies at a HIGH ENOUGH power to actually OVERPOWER and DROWN OUT the service tower. It is kind of like us both standing 30 feet apart and putting a group of loud black people between us while you and I are trying to have a normal volume level conversation.
So in reality, the jammer has to produce a stronger EMF than the actual tower and cell phone would produce by themselves. whats more, when your cell phone detects that it is losing signal, it automatically INCREASES power to attempt to maintain connectivity. so now instead of one device producing low levels of radiation, you have two or more devices operating at high output levels instead.
Install jammers all over Iraq? Why would we do that after we gave quest billions of dollars to build the damn network the terrorists are using to kill our soldiers?

I am for the most part deaf. I did discover the best cell phone jammer on the market. While waiting at a Burger King a gentleman was on his cell phone. Couldn't care less but for some reason I started to whistle. He vacated the area so soon it wasn't funny. ;) I saw him looking at me and scowling. I agree very much with the second comment of this post. People who would want to do this are looking for power and control over others, and this is their sick, and potentially detrimental (preventing a 911 call) way of doing it.
Anti-jammers usually haul out the tired argument that 911 calls would be blocked. Dailing 911 is not an intensely private moment. When I've been in "Call 911" eligible moments, most people were aware of the emergency. Unless the jammer were the one suffering the heart attack or car accident, he or she could turn it off.
Most of my 911 calls are made to report erratic driving - usually by idiots using cell phones.

Furthermore, if you're that worried, go build a faraday cage and walk around with it around you; energy comes from everywhere. You might want to stay away from the hospital when that person's cell phone you jammed on the highway tries redialing the call and crashes into you, because heaven forbid the MRI machine emits electromagnetic waves.
In reality, the amount of radiation coming from your cell phone isn't going to harm you with normal use, you're exposed to more energy from astronomical objects and backround radiation from other devices anyway. I'd also like to point out that there's not any evidence that it harms you to begin with anyway.
And on the note about privacy and rights, regardless of another person's use of a cell phone, forcing them to end a conversation in a public place (including roads, public transportation and such) is a pretty hypocritical argument. Where you seek peace from their conversation or safety, you interfere with their right to do it. As far as I know, if I want to use my phone on a bus, I may at my own discretion. For the cost of one of these devices, you could buy an MP3 player and some headphones. For cars and such, interfering with their phone isn't going to improve your safety; if they're foolish enough to drive while using it, they'll probably be foolish enough to look at the screen and attempt to redial anyway.
For private locations, such as movie theaters and restaurants, you can probably get your money back if you complain. You can probably get a new seat or table, and regardless, once again, it's not your place. Even if it irritates you, you have the ability and right to get up and leave. It's not that hard. In a restaurant, I wonder why you discount the possibility that people won't be talking to someone else at the same table. A restaurant sort of comes with the expectation of people talking, and it's not as if cell phones are a lot louder and/or inappropriate than any other conversation.
I would agree that in your own home, you should be allowed to block use within your property limits, but that's inherently hard to do. Public facilities, including privately owned ones, should not be allowed to use them because of inherent risks of problems with emergency situations. Regardless of how unlikely an event is to occur, it still could. It's more likely that you could get someone to hang up or move by asking them then not.
I have one and use it on the bus on the way home,i usually only use it if the person is being particullary loud on the phone. I did have the worst bus journey not long ago were some polish chic was talking to her friend for 45 mins on the phone (loudly) and had her friend on the speaker phone the whole time talking back, just as loud. I didnt have my phone jammer then, but it inspired me to buy one.
The bottom line is this... people these days have no sense of decency or respect for other people. It truly is the ME ME ME Generation which makes me sick to my stomach.
