New Technology May Defeat Burmese Junta
The socialist military dictatorship of Burma (a.k.a. Myanmar) has oppressed the population and successfully crushed all dissent since 1962. But now, a combination of blogs, e-mail, camera phones, Google, YouTube and other relatively new technologies are enabling dissidents to BROADCAST NEWS OF THE CRACKDOWN on a Buddhist monk-led pro-democracy campaign currently happening in the country, according reports by the BBC, AP and Reuters.
