New iPod nano Teardown Reveals Cheaper Parts
An iSuppli teardown reveals that "Apple is trying to widen its profit margins on iPods with CHEAPER COMPONENTS." The analyst firm estimates that the $150 4GB nano costs Apple less than $60 to make; the $200 8GB model under $83. Some of the savings come from forcing competition among suppliers, including the addition of Intel and Micron who now supply memory. (props to MACNN)

Supply and demand.
I would expect that ANY company who produces a product is going to charge what the market will support for it.
Why is it news that a company will charge 2x what the parts cost? Has anyone ever considered the marketing, research and development costs?
This isn't news guys, move on.
HAHA whoever buys one of these things is getting their butt owned. Love it.
