Gadget Makes Trip Tracking Truly Trivial
A company called Telespial Systems makes a product called the Super Trackstick, which makes tracking your trips and entering them into Google Earth super easy. A combination 4 MB flash storage drive and low-power (runs on two AA batteries for a month) GPS receiver fits into a compact holder, which has magnets on it. Just stick the unit on your car, motorcycle or RV, push the button, and off you go. When you get home, just plug the unit into your PC, then suck the data out using Google Earth. It records altitude and even temperature! Then you can take advantage of all that Google Earth 3D goodness. Sadly, it's also ideal for stalking people. Here comes the VIDEO! (Super Trackstick is now available here.)

I don't get it. What's the purpose? What kind of person (besides someone who's trying to keep track of the comings and goings of someone else) want this? Seems like a waste of money to me. I need enlightenment!
Clearly tracking someone else is a prime example. I'd use one for valet services as well, but I can also see a nice use in hiking. If I had teenagers I'd buy one for each car.
Spamvertised to you in 2007 - googleearthstore.com and trackstick.com ( http://www.rhyolite.com/cgi-bin/group.cgi?group=552 ).
I don't know if I can totally agree with "Spamvertised to you in 2007", but that is ONE ROCKIN' LITTLE PRODUCT! Got one myself from HelmetHead Cycle Gear.
There's a lot of websites for motorcycle riders sharing routes with each other. I imagine mountain bike riders etc. have the same.
Sharing routes is way easier with that gizmo.
