China Plans Paid E-Stamps for Anti-Spam E-Mail

An Anti-Spam Task Force of the Internet Society of China official revealed today that China plans to move to a system of PAID E-STAMPS as a way to thwart spam. The stamps would not only make sending bulk e-mail expensive, but also carry information about the true origination point of e-mail messages.

Hmmmm, maybe it's not such a bad idea after all. A nickel a message won't be too bad in the US for legit mail. That will prevent the crackberry addicts from sending in those five word messages too!
