Burmese Government Cracks Down On Internet
I told you yesterday that after 45 years of brutal oppression, the people of Burma finally had a shot at fighting back against the socialist military dictatorship that rules the country, thanks to blogs, e-mail, camera phones, Google and YouTube. The government "was last night desperately trying to SHUT DOWN INTERNET AND TELEPHONE LINKS to the outside world after a stream of blogs and mobile phone videos began capturing the dramatic events on the streets," according to The Guardian.
