Blu-Ray? HD-DVD? China Adds a Third Format
Not content with poisoning our toothpaste, dog food and toys, China now poisons the debate over which high-def disc format will prevail. While Blu-Ray and HD-DVD formats slug it out for primacy, and consumers scream for the industry to make up its mind, China announces a THIRD INCOMPATIBLE STANDARD. The official-sounding Foundation of China High Definition DVD Industry Association approved the China High Definition DVD (CH-DVD) format, which was "developed" by Optical Memory National Engineering Research Center (CH-DVD is basically a counterfeit version of Toshiba's HD-DVD, with some proprietary code added).
