Robot Glove Transmits Movement, Feeling
An amazing "HAPTIC GLOVE" developed at the University of Tokyo is being demonstrated at the annual SIGGRAPH conference that has sensors in the robot glove, which are relayed to an "electro-tactile display" -- so you "feel" what the robot hand feels. The user can feel not only the "stiffness" of what the robot hand is touching, but also the shape and tempurature. UPDATE: NewScientist.com posted August 20 a niece piece on haptics at SIGGRAPH 2007.
