New Record and CD Player Records to MP3

Japan's Scitec is now selling a $210 "jukebox" called the TCU-350SD, which looks like a record player from the 1950s, but it plays old-school vinyl records, CDs, AM and FM radio and music from your iPod, iPhone or other media player. Here's the best bit: It records from vinyl and CD into MP3 FORMAT. You can use its USB port for transferring music files.

Ages ago you wrote an article on the "one-touch any-media iPod uploader" which was pretty much as it sounds, and uploaded VHS, DVD, casettes etc. onto an iPod. The people that make this thing also made this:

and this

So this technology isn't really pioneering anything as it is already available.

Well sure, the tech isn't new, but it's like taking the Hammacher-Schlemmer 74106 and adding speakers, AM/FM, CD-player, and CD-to-MP3 functionality for a whopping $20.

Sounds good to me. I'd rather have this one.
