Marines Lock Down Fallujah With Biometrics

U.S. Marines took Fallujah, Iraq, away from insurgents and terrorists in 2004 the old fashioned way: with bloody, house-to-house combat. But today they're using biometrics to maintain peace and order. The only way to enter the city is to produce a Marine Corps-issued badge, which requires that "Marines snap your picture, scan your irises, and take ALL TEN OF YOUR FINGERPRINTS." The program is called the Biometrics Automated Toolset, or BAT, which inspired Batman logos on their laptops. (props to Threat Level)

Can't see how that helps stop a determined suicide bomber but I can see it p%ssing off already p%ssed off honest citizens. Technology is not the answer; dealing with the people and what concerns them is. Years and years on since Son Of Bush finished what is father started and Baghdad still goes with electricity for most of the day and has fuel shortages even though it's sitting on the 3rd largest oil reserves.
