Linux Journal Publishes 7-Year-Old Sexist Ad
Linux Journal published a BLATANTLY SEXIST (albeit vaguely funny) ad in its August, 2007, issue which belongs, according to the site feministing.com, in the "Ads That Really Suck" file. Worse, the ad is a repeat of another ad that appeared seven years ago, also in Linux Journal. The controversy generated back then prompted the magazine to apologize and promise to never run it again. All of which raises two questions: 1) why would you want to read a magazine that breaks its promises; and 2) why would you want to buy servers from a company that "clearly hasn't had a new idea in seven years?"

"Ads That Really Suck"? What are they talking about?!?!? This is clearly an ad that has nothing to do with sucking... ;)
Ads that blow?
'why would you want to buy servers from a company that "clearly hasn't had a new idea in seven years?"'
Well, it's worked for Microsoft so far.
Actually both Phill and Mike are wrong. This ad is implying that the chick in the ad won't peform oral contact with your erection. (Yes, I know you know that) and we also know it is called fellatio. But we all know that a real act of fellatio consists of sucking, not blowing. I don't know why it is referred to as a "blow j-b" when you are actually getting either a "suck j-ob" or a "tongue j-b". Sometimes slang doesn't make sense. Because a blow j-b would consist of someone just blowing wind (their breath) on it and who would find that fun?
I'm surprised that people get upset of "small" things ;P
It is a 'joke.' By definition, jokes may offend someone (usually those that are the butt of the joke.
Don't feminists, who surely tell jokes about "that dumb man" or that "Macho dude" understand the ability to laugh at oneself?
The complete disregard of humor makes people seem very unreasonable...
To each their own...
Jonathan:
Yes, Microsoft has sucked for over seven years... ;P
That ad is awesome, CTFO
